Full Description

The Client was working with a wonderful designer, Denise Andison, and it was she that provide the initial hand-drawn designs you see in the photos above.

This is a horse property but the client wanted to update her kitchen to a brighter, more contemporary look. We picked out a knotty alder cabinet with a cream base and a dark glaze to brighten the space, and an island with a light base stain and dark glaze for contrast. Combined with their Travertine floors and grey backsplash it created a unique designs that highlighted the Rustic themes while updating the overall design and feel of the home as well. You’ll notice the backyard patio is redesigned to include simular cabinetry and space for entertaining right off the patio. You’ll see more of our inspiring ideas for backyard spaces here. Every project starts with an initial design consultation. This meeting is pretty much about finding out if everyone likes everyone, and if everyone feels comfortable working with one another. Any remodel project is a war, so you’d better like the people you’re going into battle with. Otherwise you are adding stress to an already stressful situation, and nobody wants that.

We love this meeting because…well we typically like everyone…and everyone likes us. Also, it doesn’t take long to see that when it comes to kitchen design we really know what we are talking about.

Next, we get into the details of the design and the specific needs for each client and pull all of the ideas and concepts together to build a “design board.” The design board has all of the materials and colors that will eventually become your dream kitchen. Once these things are selected and compared with the overall vision, then it’s time to see that vision come to life.

As you can see from the video, working with us makes it easy to see your kitchen rather than trying to imagine it using only color swatches and samples. We can actually do a virtual walk through and see renderings from any angle…for the 1st time since you decided to remodel, you can see your kitchen…you can see that it’s actually going to happen, and it’s actually going to look the way you imagined it would. That is why showing these designs is my favorite part…every time we do it there’s that special moment when our clients stop thinking of their kitchen as a dream and see it as a reality.
